Team Member Spotlight: Tabatha
I was born and raised in Pocatello, ID and I could not wait
to get out. After a couple year hiatus in Boise to get my graduate degree I
came back to my hometown and fell in love with it. Someday, my sweetheart and I hope to go back to his family’s original homestead and build a house. My
boyfriend, Tyler, and I have lived in five cities and three states together
since we met six years ago. We moved to Utah for his job, and we love being closer
to family and the mountains.
While attending Boise
State University, I started working in non-profits and became obsessed with
finding ways to help people. I graduated with a Masters in Applied Historical
Research and started off my career as the director and curator of a small
museum in Pocatello. We moved to Montana in early 2013 where I worked as a program
manager for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program where volunteers
prepare taxes FOR FREE for low to moderate income taxpayers. I absolutely adore the program and continue to volunteer for it today. I wrapped up my time
in Montana working for First Interstate Bank Foundation where I assisted our
employees in giving back to their
communities. It was one of my favorite jobs ever!
I truly enjoy my current job as the Northern Utah Community
Liaison for Help Me Grow Utah. I appreciate working for an agency that is so
willing to help everyone. One of my favorite things about the program is that
everyone is eligible as long as they live in Utah and are expecting or have
children up to the age of 8. This job has given me such a great opportunity to
seek out all the amazing organizations that are available to our families.
