Planning for the Year

I realize that it's the middle of the school year, and most people aren't worried about, or even thinking about, the next school year.  However, for those of you with munchkins starting kindergarten this year, here's a little blurb from the Utah State Office of Education about what to do to make sure your kids are kindergarten ready--
complete with link to their helpful pamphlet :-).

"The Utah State Office of Education has prepared a pamphlet for parents of preschool children. The items in this pamphlet are provided as a guide to support a child’s learning before entering kindergarten. Children grow, develop, and learn at different rates. A child may already be successful with some items and may need more time to develop others. Give the child plenty of opportunities to practice and learn these skills. With guidance, they can be learned interactively with family and friends in a natural setting. Kindergarten pamphlets will be handed out in all public and charter schools, during kindergarten orientation, to parents of children who will be five years old on or before September 1, 2011. The kindergarten pamphlet can be found in English/Spanish at the following website: http://www.schools.utah.gov/curr/preschool-kindergarten/index.html"
