Kick Off Event!

I wanted to share a little more information about the Help Me Grow even quickly approaching!

The day will start out with a yummy pancake breakfast. Next we will cycle through fun stations where you will learn various techniques and activities to do with your child at home. Parents will enjoy fun activities to foster their child’s development while their children have fun playing! Parents will also learn more about Help Me Grow and the services we have available. Children 0-8 years old will receive t-shirts, but older children are still welcome to attend! Breakfast will be served to all. Don't miss out on the carnival like surroundings your child will enjoy while leaning along the way!

Help Me Grow is an information hot line that connects parents of children ages 0-8 to community services. As of March 1, 2010, Community members dial 2-1-1 and ask for “Help Me Grow” to access the following free services:

  • Comprehensive database of all community resources in Utah County for children ages 0-8 and their families.
  • Screening tool called the Ages and Stages Questionnaire which is used nationally by parents for early detection of delays. It helps parents to become stronger advocates by understanding the developmental needs of their child.
  • Monitoring system of referrals and follow-up to ensure that parents using Help Me Grow will be referred to community resources that best fit their child’s needs.Children with developmental delays are not being identified and helped early enough. Parents and caregivers are sometimes unsure of developmental milestones and the available resources to support their child’s growth and development. When social, emotional, and physical developmental delays are caught early, appropriate intervention can ensure the most successful future for that child.

Baby Time!

I found a great testimonial from a girl named Stephanie on the United Way website. I love her insight and wanted to share the reasons she is excited to use the "Help Me Grow" hotline.
