Painting Your Nursery...It's more than just a color!

As new parents, everything has to be right. The right stroller, car seat, diaper bag, etc. When it comes to the nursery especially, you want it to be perfect. Did you know that the color of the nursery has an affect on your new baby? It may be hard to choose a color for your little one, but maybe knowing about how the color will affect your infant will change your mind!

Red- Passion, Excitement, Emotional
Red is a bold color that is that will definitely stand out. In a nursery, use red as an accent color and avoid red wall to wall. Red may invoke volatile personality traits.

      Yellow- Lively, Energetic, Cheerful

Yellow is a bright, sunny, happy color but too much bright yellow can agitate a baby. Small accents of yellow can promote concentration and emotive thoughts.

Green- Calming, Refreshing, Nurturing

Green is the best color to use in a learning environment. Green
promotes calmness, thinking, and concentration. It is also very natural and calming. Green can be a great color in decorating because it is so prevalent in nature.

Blue- Healing, Subtle

Blue may be calming but take caution with the shade. Gray-blues can lean toward sadness. Productivity is associated with the color blue, but should not be used around food. If you have a fussy eater on your hands, avoid blue plates! Use warm or bright blues. Blue can be cooling which is good for a baby who may get warm easily.

    Pink- Romantic, Loving, Feminine

As we all know, little girls love pink! It’s the universal color of all things girly. Pink is very calming especially with children who are likely to throw tantrums or fits. Pink is a great color if you want your little one to feel like a princess!

Choosing a color for your child's nursery can be a big decision! Knowing how color affects your baby may play a role in what color you choose!
